Apple MAC OS X – Now Supporting Windows 7 (Boot Camp)…

Posted by Samir Saleem On October - 25 - 2009

image I really don’t understand Apple really I don’t. First it tries to devalue Windows 7 through those humorous commercials on the launch day of Windows 7 and now then announces that, MAC OS X, yes the proprietary hardware cum OS system from Apple will now support officially Windows 7 for those who want to get the flavor of the MAC and Windows side by side, all this by the end of the year.

Apple will support Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate) with Boot Camp in Mac OS X Snow Leopard before the end of the year. This support will require a software update to Boot Camp.

Requirements:
In addition to the Boot Camp update, you will need the following:
    • Your own authentic copy of Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows 7 upgrade
    • An Intel-based Mac computer

I am sure Microsoft would be happy to let the users do it as, they are pretty confident of the new Windows 7 and thus for the first time MAC’s welcoming a PC on its hardware would definitely give the added market share that Microsoft needed to take away from Apple.

  6. Phew. I’m glad you were able to cover this topic after all. Time to get back and do some more research.

  7. I have to say that I like Windows 7. That Windows runs very smooth. Even the 64 bit version runs smooth. When Windows Vista came out a lot of software wasn’t adapted yet for 64bit. Even though 64bit was allready there when XP was the king. Now most prgrams has a 64bit version. Games also run better on Windows 7. It’s almost like gaming on XP. Nice work from MS after problem Vista. And best of all, you don’t need a high end computer.
