After Baidu was identified by the state media to be allowing unlicensed medical services in order to buy high search rankings for more customers, China’s search kingpin said it will soon overhaul it’s operations as a result to the media announcement.
Baidu was criticized on national TV for rigging it’s pay-for-performance (P4P) search platform, resulting in a slump in the stock price of Baidu.
We have removed the key words of all four clients mentioned in the report and have begun to double-check the licenses of all other hospitals and pharmacies on our client list. Baidu employees who are found to have been involved in the scandal will be penalized…We have already fired people who helped fabricate documents for unlicensed suppliers. CEOI Li said.
The report was that, people used baidu boasted medical services and hence had remained to be uncured after spending hundreds of Yuan’s.
Baidu is the market leader of search in China while global search leader, Google remains 2nd in position.
