Posted by Samir Saleem On November - 20 - 2009
Last March, at TED, when I saw for the first time how India's own Pranav Mistry came up with his design gadget called the SixthSense that augmented reality, turning every day objects of life into usable controls such as your hands, Tshirts, or even your PaperPad.   We at The Technology Cafe, are pretty much excited how this could not only change how we interact with objects but how education could leverage such technology, especially in third world or progressive nations such as India, Continue Reading

Microsoft Store Employees – Dancing Oompa Loompas (Video)…

Posted by Samir Saleem On November - 19 - 2009
Since the first Microsoft Store launch 3 weeks ago in Scottsdale, we liked the idea of Microsoft interacting directly with the customer and presenting them Microsoft Solutions (OS, Office, Dev etc) with a human touch. But this particular Microsoft store went a mile extra to pump up employees and customers to be excited about Microsoft products. I call them "Dancing Oompa Loompas"  in the terms of the great British writer Roald Dahl, who run down Charlie's chocolate factory. So without further Continue Reading

Posted by AliAziz On November - 10 - 2009
Did you see something strange in this screenshot of Google’s homepage on 6th Nov, 2009? No, not Bert and Ernie (it’s Sesame Street’s 40th birthday).     It’s that ad for the Verizon Droid right there under the search box (today is also Droid Day). Although, the juxtaposition does make it seem like Bert and Ernie are trying to get you to buy a Droid.   Google’s homepage is normally an ad-free zone. No more than 28 words are allowed on it, and Google is Continue Reading
