We all love word press and quite honestly it has become the DeFacto standard for any blog these days. We our selves are proud word press users. But when it comes to micro blogging we are stuck to not to many options. You ant create micro blogging blogs just like you can do on wordpress that efficiently.
But worry not anymore, Montreal-based StatusNet
, aims to become the DeFacto choice for users wanting to micros blog just like twitter. StatusNet is open source and which you can download and install on your own servers.
The big thing about StatusNet is that many companies want to create micro blogs be it within organizations or for outside organization communication, team or departments updates, the vision being limitless.
StatusNet claims to run about 2,000 public micro blogging sites in total now, with somewhere between 200,000 to 300,000 active users.
I am sure this would be a huge hit and soon you will see The Technology Cafe’s own micro blog service as well.
