Windows 7 would be released tomorrow worldwide. But what can Microsoft give us besides the operating system with the best compatibility? A FREE ANTIVIRUS. Yes you heard me, an antivirus.
The world is going through though economic times, and add insult to injury it gets worse when our computer starts to loose our files or get infected, hence performing adversely. Microsoft has played a good game that now with the Windows 7 operating system you can now download Microsoft’s own Security Essentials, a antivirus+malware+spyware detector to guard you against the most commonly attacked OS: yes that’s right Window’s.
I have been using the security essentials since its beta version and remarkably its much better than Microsoft’s previous OneCare. Microsoft is biting the hands of companies like Symantec, Bitdefender, Kaspersky etc.
Microsoft Security Essentials was released globally and now available to consumers in 19 countries, and Microsoft claims over well over 1.5 million downloads of Microsoft Security Essentials in just one week.
You can download the Final Release from here.
Installation
Features:
Automatic Updates from the Microsoft Security Centre makes the Security Essentials, quite active and impresses me much.
Clean Elegant and Comprehensive Scanning, this keeps me very much informed and also doesn’t give me the fuss of multiple windows like Symantec does. One Window tells you all, thus utilizing less resources and doesn’t slow the system down as well.
Settings are easy to do, from changes security preferences to security detections and adding exceptions, one stop for all.

Threat Detection and Removal:
The most important thing any user likes is that you get to be annoyed very less when a threat is found, no alarms no crashes etc. And this is what Security Essentials does.
Simple clean and Smart.
Detections and Protective Count:
Up till 6th of October 2009, almost four million detections on 535,752 distinct machines were discovered making it highly secure and protective Security Suite.
By looking at detections divided by active Microsoft Security Essentials machines over the whole population, we see far more detections per XP machine, with the fewest from Win7.
One more r
eason to Upgrade your old Windows to Windows 7.
If you haven’t tried it out yet, give it a try Now. You can download the Final Release from here.
