It was this month, particularly this day 40 Years ago on October 29, 1969, the first two nodes of ARPANET were interconnected between UCLA’s School of Engineering and Applied Science and SRI International (SRI) in Menlo Park, California. It took 12 years for 213 computers to get linked in the network and transfer files and shared data to each other via Gopher, or FTP, or Cello (old web browsers ).
And then came out Netscape.
Initially the web rocked the internet from static personal pages popping up to more companies getting their brands online.
Then came the browser wars most fearful competitor IE and with its API , all the web browsing seemed awesome.
Well my story was that i stared to use the internet first at the age of 13, wanting to do some research on projects. I remember that there was no Google hype back much then, but I remember i used AskJeeves.com to do my first search engine query.
Remembering it is awesome…
