The search engines are just rolling out its not just to give a better experience but to segment search in a whole new direction. As my previous post we saw how the search engines are getting overcrowded. Wolfram Alpha is a new search engine recently rolled out and is like a cross between a research library, a graphing calculator, and a search engine.
It claims to be the worlds first "computational knowledge engine,".
So here is a full pictorial review with a video for you to judge how search engines such as Wolfram Alpha could change the way we search….
The Video Tour:
The Pictorial Review:
Wolfram Alpha will show you when the next eclipse will occur over San Francisco.
Curious about how closely NetApp‘s stock price has correlated with EMC‘s? Wolfram Alpha will tell you.
Wolfram Alpha will show you how well your favorite baseball team fared.
Wolfram alpha may not be good when you search people or events or where you can see a movie tickets etc, but I believe that students, research assistants, lawyers, marketing managers, financial analysts, and scientists might use this grapping plus result oriented mathematical type search engine for good use, and overtime when personalization comes in Google could have to worry about loosing its share market.
You can even try the new search engine right from the technology cafe…LIVE
